Reading the FAQ is ESSENTIAL before booking.
One time slot is for one person. For two people, please book two slots (one at a time). Please indicate which style # you want.
As appointment durations can vary, your time may be adjusted by up to 15 minutes, either earlier or later. You will be notified in advance if any change occurs.
Online bookings are available one month in advance with a minimum of 4 hours’ notice. For urgent bookings, please call or text.
Early start (before 9am) is available upon request with extra charge.
Where two prices are listed, the first is for short/medium length, the second is for long hair.
Long hair = over 50cm, measured from the front hair line to the longest strand.
Extra long hair = over 70cm (extra charge depends on length).
Strings, colour extensions or tinsel can be added to any braid if desired for additional cost.

Extensions can be added to shorter or finer hair to achieve the desired length and volume.

Hair Tinsel
Group or party bookings are available. They can be for sports, dance performances, birthday parties or any other social events.
Please note that mermaid braids take 30 minutes per head. Simpler styles are available to accomodate a bigger group for a short party if you wish.

Custom Braids
Q: What do I need to prepare for my appointment?
A: To ensure a smooth appointment, here’s what you need to prepare:
Wash your hair (you can do this the night before).
Be on time. Late arrival of more than 10 minutes will result in cancellation if another client is booked for the next slot.
Make sure your hair is free of knots: It’s important to come with hair that’s already detangled. If your hair has knots, it will take up valuable time to detangle, in which case I would either:
- Rush through the braiding process, which won’t give you the best result, or
- Ask you to choose a simpler style to fit the time frame.
During busy periods like school holidays, time slots get fully booked, so it’s essential I stay on schedule to avoid delays for other clients. Additionally, if your hair has a significant number of knots, knot removal will be charged.
Please be informed that the studio space is limited and can only comfortably accommodate 2 accompanying adults or 1 adult and up to 2 kids inside. Larger groups are kindly requested to wait outside. A shaded balcony and garden area are available for your comfort.
Q: I can't find the style I want on the menus. How can I book?
A: No worries—just select any menu and leave a note describing the style you want. The note is the most important part, and I’ll make sure to allocate the right amount of time for your requested style.
Q: Can I pay with Eftpos/credit card?
A: Currently, it is cash or Pay ID only. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Q: Do I need to pay a deposit for booking? Can I cancel?
A: No, you don’t need to pay a deposit for individual bookings. Hence, there is no charge either for cancellation. But I would appreciate it if you cancel at least 4 hours before. However, if you have had a no-show on your record, a deposit of $25 is required to secure the next booking. This deposit is non-refundable should you cancel or fail to show up, but you can reschedule once (4 hours before).
Q: Can you braid curly hair?
A: Yes, I can braid curly hair. However, for the best results, I recommend blow-drying your hair straight after washing it before your appointment. This helps create a smoother finish and makes the braiding process more efficient.
If you prefer not to straighten or pre-stretch your hair, that’s absolutely fine—just note that an extra time and cost will apply. Please make sure to mention this when booking so I can allow extra time for your appointment.
Q: Can I get braids if my hair is short? What is the minimal length?
A: There isn't a single, definitive answer to this, as it really depends on factors like the style you choose, your hair texture, density, and whether your hair is even length all around.
For neat, long-lasting cornrows, your hair should ideally reach at least 10 cm past the nape or back hairline. If your strands don’t reach the ends of the braid, they’re more likely to poke out, frizz, or unravel quickly.
That said, when it comes to extra short hair, general guidelines are:
Coily or Afro-textured hair can usually be braided at around 10 cm since the natural coil helps hold the braid in place even at shorter lengths.
Wavy, curly, or straight hair typically needs to be at least 15 cm all over—not just on top. However, if the strands don’t reach the end of the braid, they’re more likely to stick out—especially with thicker textures. Therefore, thicker hair generally needs more length than finer hair to hold cleanly in a braid.
When working with minimum-length hair, smaller braids are recommended. Keep in mind, extra short hair is much more challenging to braid and maintain. If you are unsure whether your hair is suitable for a certain braid style, feel free to text me and send a photo so we can discuss.
Q: How long will my braids last? How about mermaid braids?
A: It depends on the style you choose, your hair type, and how well you look after it. In general, the smaller the braids, the longer they last. For example, two Dutch braids usually last 1–2 weeks, while some clients report their six cornrows can last up to 6 weeks. Coily hair tends to hold braids better than thick, straight hair.
As for mermaid braids, most of my clients can keep them for around one week. Some are able to wear them for two weeks or even longer, depending on their hair type, hair length, and how well the braids are maintained. Getting the braids wet (for example, swimming) will shorten their lifespan. To minimise frizz and extend the lifespan of your braids, sleeping on a silk pillowcase or wearing a silk durag is highly recommended.
Important note: Thick hair with a straight or blunt cut is more likely to stick out of extensions and may not last even one night. One pack of extensions is usually not enough to wrap around that amount of hair, while using two packs can make the style too bulky. To avoid this, it’s best to distribute the hair into smaller sections. For thick hair—especially with a straight cut—I strongly recommend four braids instead of two. This helps the style last longer, look neater, and blend better with the extensions.
Q: What colour extensions do you have?
A: I offer over 40 different colours: varieties of single colours and ombré blends.
Prices listed for styles with extensions are based on a standard single colour. Ombré and premium extensions incur an additional cost of $5–$15.
I try to keep a diverse selection in stock; however, availability may vary. If you have a specific colour in mind, please include it in your booking notes, and I let you know if it is NOT available.
Q: What is the best way to contact you?
A: I won't be able to answer my phone when I am with a client, so text messages (not FB Messenger or Instagram DMs) are the best. I try to check my phone in between clients.
